Frank Barkow and Regine Leibinger of architecture studio Barkow Leibinger were tasked with designing a panoramic study pavilion on a lakeside location for resident fellows of the American Academy in Berlin.
The Fellows Pavilion takes full advantage of its scenic location, featuring glass walls, a round-about veranda and an angular roof. The glass walls of the structure are held upright by a steel skeleton and topped with a gabled roof on all four sides. The white steel frame of the structure contrasts beautifully with the striking green lawns, giving the pavilion a sense of lightness and transparency.
Those who wish to spend a quiet moment reading, studying or contemplating in the pavilion are treated to the gorgeous view of a lake in Berlin's Wannsee area.
