Multipurpose Micro-Housing

The 'Stratford Collective' Will Combat the Housing Shortage in London

Architects of this London high-rise have described their latest project, 'The Stratford Collective,' as London's micro-housing solution. Meant to target young professionals, the housing scheme is planned to be a mixed-use development which will include compact apartments, communal amenities for residents, hotel spaces and co-working offices.

The versatile space hopes to provide a viable housing option to address the city's increasing housing shortage. Three years were spent researching and planning the project and with the help of PLP Architecture, the team believes that creating a hybrid public and private space is the city's best solution. The idea behind the project is to take the vibrancy out of the street and to weave it throughout the building. Apart from providing micro-housing, the building will also feature retail spaces and restaurants.
