'Studioata' designed a contemporary cottage that features a modern stone facade and an all-glass entrance. When it comes to microhomes, many people imagine trailers or converted shipping containers. This microhome features a modern design that makes it look like a permanent residence.
The home is located on a steep slope in rural Turin, Italy. The homes features a gray stone facade that gives the structure a stately look. The heavy stone is balanced by the floor-to-ceiling windows, which cover the front of the home. These windows also allows the primary living space to open up onto a large porch. Despite its compact design, the clever use of space makes the home feel much larger than it is.
The cozy Italian cottage demonstrates that microhomes can be designed with all the amenities of a traditional house.
