Glass Bridge-Connected Small Homes

PJCArchitecture Finishes a Micro-Home Design in Ecuador

New York City-based design studio PJCArchitecture taps Make Estudio, which is its design-build branch in Ecuador to complete a micro-home located in Napoles. It is made up of two brick forms that are connected together by a glass bridge -- this is dependent on passive heating and cooling properties. The studio sourced materials including brick, concrete, glass, and steel as the primary construction items.

The lead architect of the project Nandar Godoy-Dinneen speaks about the design, stating "The design is based not only on the client's needs but on her desire to embrace the local environment, culture, and vernacular. It was also heavily shaped by the availability of construction materials and by working within the local traditions."
