Gamified Speed Skating Videos

This Speed Skating Video is Mashed Up with Mario Kart

Speed skating videos are pretty entertaining to watch on their own, but this version by YouTube user timtimfed makes it even more so by adding elements from the Mario Kart video game into the mix.

The 'Speed Skating Double Dash' video has skaters deke and dodge perilous obstacles like banana peels, turtle shells and Chain Chomps. Other hilarious power-ups from the game help to work to the advantage of some skaters, like the lightning bolt strike, which causes all other opponents to shrink down to a minuscule size, making their strides much shorter.

The end of the video takes quite a dramatic turn at the end and it's one that's a lot darker than what you usually see in a normal Mario Kart race.
