'Spectacles V2' Improve Upon Snapchat's First Recording Glasses

It's no secret that Snap Inc.'s first attempt at a hardware product, the much-publicized Spectacles, weren't nearly as successful as the company was hoping for, so its recently released update, the Spectacles V2, aim to improve on the major pain points from that initial offering. The glasses have added several new technologies and design features to make them more appealing to Snapchat users around the world.

In terms of design, the Spectacles V2 are more understated. As opposed to the garish colors that were available for the original Spectacles, the new glasses come in subtly translucent red and blue frames as well as a solid black option. The lenses also come in two different reflectiveness levels for all three frame styles.

The technological aspects of the new glasses are changed as well. They can now take photos as well as video, and they come with a far smaller charging case to make them more conveniently portable.
