There are countless board named "Dream Home" on Pinterest where users collect inspirational images of places they might like to live—and the newly revamped Homes.com now offers a practical new feature called Snap & Search to make it easier to find one's dream house in the real world.
The social media-inspired Snap & Search is being called "the first-ever visual search tool for potential homebuyers." With this feature, users can upload an exterior photo of a house and have the system's AI make suggestions from local listings based off of similar architectural styles, building materials and finishes.
David Mele, president of Homes.com, describes that Snap & Search "is a completely new, ultra-personalized search experience that combines elements of Pinterest, Facebook, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and collaborative search." Ultimately, the tool makes it easier for both agents and homebuyers to locate what may be their dream home in an area nearby.
