As a variation on yogurt bars, Frankonia creates high-protein, no-sugar-added Skyr Bars, made with the popular Icelandic cultured dairy product. Skyr is known for its smooth, rich texture, as well as being lower in sugar, carbs and fat than most yogurts.
The low-fat, fiber-rich bars are available in apricot and blueberry varieties, and according to Frankonia, the product is “reminiscent of low-fat curd cheese, but tastes more acidic and contains more calcium.
Rather than being granola-like, as many yogurt bars are, these bars are creamy all the way through and are dotted with freeze-dried fruit pieces. As the products are free from added sugar, Frankonia emphasizes that the Skyr bars only contain sugar from nature.
