Satellites II by Kojima and Refn takes over Prada Mode NYC

Satellites II is an exhibition created by Hideo Kojima and Nicolas Winding Refn for the 14th edition of Prada Mode, staged at New York’s Hotel Chelsea. The project was developed by Kojima and Refn as a continuation of their earlier collaboration, presented within Prada’s traveling cultural platform. The installation transforms the hotel into a series of immersive environments that host both performances and static works.

The space is organized into reconfigured guest rooms that operate as micro television studios, each presenting filmed dialogues and live performances. During public access, these rooms transition into installation spaces, maintaining the same structural layout while shifting function. Retrofuturistic television sets display recorded conversations between the two creators, focusing on themes tied to communication, creativity, and personal connection.

The program extends beyond the hotel through additional works placed across the city, alongside talks, concerts, and curated dining events. The exhibition runs from June 5 to 7, with a private preview from June 3 to 4.
