Gospel music is known for its rich, multi-person choruses, but until Rockin' 1000, rock music was typically a genre for small bands. Rockin' 1000 is a crowdsourced musical project that plays concerts with over 1,000 musicians at the same time.
The band consists of seven main instrument sections: vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, violin and bagpipes. The former four sections comprise well over 100 musicians each and band has dozens of keyboardists, violinists and bagpipers. The first live show with the humongous band took place in Orogel Stadium in Cesena, Italy.
Rock music is a powerful genre, with driving bass and drums and ripping guitars and vocals and a giant, crowdsourced band like Rockin' 1000 only serves to multiply that power and demonstrate the mass appeal of the genre.
