Zigzagging Cultural Hubs

Zaha Hadid's Riverside Museum Connects Glasgow City to the River

The Riverside Museum is an extremely modern piece of architecture. An artwork all on its own, I wouldn't be surprised if people visited the Riverside Museum in order to witness its stunning design rather than the art pieces it stores within.

Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Riverside Museum is located in Glasgow, Scotland. A geometrically complex design, it zigzags both horizontally and vertically, creating a dynamic feast for the eyes both face-on and from above. As though resembling some sort of tunnel, it is able to house over 3,000 exhibits. It is made out of patinated zinc panels.

The design of the Riverside Museum is inspired by its natural surroundings. It links the city of Glasgow with the river, transitioning one to the other.
