Galactic-Themed Sci-Fi Museums

Zaha Hadid Architects Designs the New Star Cloud Museum

The Chengdu Science Fiction Museum boasts a new design that replicates the look of a Star Cloud, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. This year, Chengdu, China will be hosting the 81st World Science Fiction Convention of the year, otherwise known as WorldCon, which is the largest sci-fi event in the world.

It takes place at the new and captivating museum that rests on Jingrong Lake. It looks like it takes on the shape of a large nebula cloud with a star right at the middle dispersing into many directions. The design studio speaks about the project and notes that “The fluid forms of its roofs radiate from a central point within … guiding visitors through a portal that connects our lived experience with our imagination”
