Zaha Hadid Architects Creates the Nikola Tesla Museum from a Mill

British design studio Zaha Hadid Architects works together with local firm Bureau Cube Partners to transform a paper mill into the Nikola Tesla Museum. It is located in Belgrade, Serbia, and the space is complete with an elliptical roof inspired by Nikola Tesla's scientific research. The museum is located in the Milan Capa Paper Mill which was originally built in 1924. The team preserves some fo the original facades and vaulted ceilings.
Zaha Hadid Architects speaks about the design process to Dezeen, noting "The museum's design draws on Tesla's research into magnetic fields and wireless energy transfer. Informed by concepts of magnetic forces and interconnectivity, the design incorporates dynamic elliptical curves radiating from the old factory chimney, the site's dominant feature."
