Michael K Chen Architecture installed custom-made furniture throughout a renovated apartment in the West Village. The New York-based practice breathed life into a two-bedroom and two-bathroom property by creating a light-filled space and a smart storage system. The furniture was strategically sourced, based on the client's needs and style. The renovated apartment was designed for a professional couple with an already robust art collection.

The angular space is given character with custom carpentry furniture, including a bleached ash piece for storing purposes. Michael K Chen Architecture kept the space open-concept, as seen in the layout of the kitchen, which bleeds into the living room. This economical space arrangement, the lightness of the wood and the practicality of the custom furniture pieces grant this renovated apartment an overall uplifting and contemporary feel.
