Rainbow Monkey Features Islands Where Only a Few Remain

— December 27, 2009 — Art & Design
Rainbow Monkey created this exhibit which is part of an ongoing project. More pieces will be added to the current collection as they are created. Each piece is a crater, or rock-like sculpture with tiny people and animals on the top surface. Each of Rainbow Monkey’s sculptures depicts a different scene, from a circus train that got in an accident to a crowd gathered around what looks like a pool of lava.

Rainbow Monkey’s pieces represent a feeling of being stranded and alone, with only yourself and those immediately around you to depend on. The limited space of each crater-like sculpture also gives a sense of ever-decreasing resources, perhaps a symbol of our own situation on this planet.
