A group of Dutch artists have launched the 'Raduga' or Rainbow app that is designed to help Russian smartphone users to both marvel at one of nature's most spectacular and spell-binding displays while simultaneously making a subtle and completely legal statement about LGBT rights in the country.
The app tracks weather forecasts across Russia and sends users an alert when a rainbow is expected to appear in their area. Users can then take a photo of the rainbow and post it on social media to both share the visual beauty of the rainbow and also express solidarity with LGBT rights at the same time.
