The 'Pumping Heart Patch' Could Soon be Trialed on Humans

Thanks to the progression in modern medicine, scientists have recently created a 'Pumping Heart Patch.' This device could potentially save 52,000 lives in the UK annually.
The 'Pumping Heart Patch' works through millions of living, beating cells that repair any damage created through heart attacks and heart failures. The patch is made from samples of the patients' cells and is sewn directly on the heart. Eventually, the device becomes a working muscle. Additionally, the machine releases regenerative and reparative chemicals.
It has currently only been tested on rabbits, but patient trials will begin by 2021. This new device could drastically assist over 920,000 individuals affected by heart failure in the UK.
