Designer Junya Ishigami will be building the Port of Kinmen Service Center in China after winning a difficult competition filled with high-class designs. His structure is focused on sustainability and ensuring that everything is completed with energy efficiency in mind.
The great point about the Port of Kinmen is that it's not just focused on getting ships in and out of the area, but also providing people with an area to enjoy themselves. As such the plan calls for recreational areas, and many people are hoping that this will stimulate the economy in this region. Not only will individuals be more willing to come here, but perhaps other businesses will flock to the area too.
The port is set to see over 5 million passengers pass through the doors on a yearly basis.
