The new Naoshima New Museum of Art has opened its doors and the design was done by Tadao Ando. The result is a three-story building which is complete with two underground levels and a ground floor -- all of this hosts four gallery spaces.
The Japanese architect is known for his work with concrete, space, and light and the Naoshima New Museum of Art embodies an artful approach at all elements. Found at the top of a hill by the Honmura district, the museum is a special addition to the country's Benesse Art Site. It brings attention to natural light and how fluid the space cohesively functions. In the middle is a staircase illuminated by natural light with its integrated skylight.
