The Xiao Feng Art Museum is a Sculptural Concrete Building in China

The Xiao Feng Art Museum is a purpose-built cultural institution designed to house the work of artists Xiao Feng and Song Ren in Hangzhou, China. The museum occupies approximately 1,300 square meters at the base of Daci Mountain near West Lake and was completed in 2025. Its irregular polygonal form wraps around a central courtyard, creating a continuous circulation path that moves through varying gallery volumes. Visitors enter beneath an elevated section of the structure and follow gently sloped ramps that connect exhibition spaces across different levels.

The building is constructed from cast-in-place reinforced concrete finished in a dark tone that contrasts with the surrounding vegetation. Openings and projecting volumes frame views of the courtyard and nearby hills while allowing natural light to enter interior spaces. The spatial sequence emphasizes gradual transitions in scale, height, and light rather than a single dominant gallery.
