This isn't your average poll app and with the right integration, it could be the new way to gather information. While being able to poll multiple people at the same time is not a new innovation, the way Twitch is doing it is quite refreshing.
Things like Amazon's mTurk allowed users to take polls much the same way Twitch does, but the difference between mTurk and the Twitch poll app is the effort involved. Given the choice, most phone users will not willingly open an app to take a poll, so what Twitch does is take that entire aspect out of the equation.
Twitch hijacks the lock screen of the phone and provides simple instructions for taking the poll. The entire process is quick and easy and allows for multiple polls done quickly and easily.
