Affordable housing is a continuing issue for many parts of North America, so the Plant Prefab Nest Design Tool Kit has been created to help maximize infill architecture capabilities.
Developed by Los Angeles-based architect Brooks + Scarpa, the infill solutions could be used to offer multi-family formations, single-room occupancy (SRO) and rapid rehousing to address the needs of different regions. This could help to support the increasing number of homeless individuals and offer them a dedicated space to get back on their feet.
The Plant Prefab Nest Design Tool Kit is focused on prefab construction, scalability and adaptability, which makes it highly applicable for the Los Angeles area where more housing for the homeless is required to support the larger community.
