Andrea Rosso Updates Details at the Art Deco Pelican Hotel
Amy Duong — February 12, 2025 — Art & Design
Italian designer Andrea Rosso has taken on the renovation project of updating the interior and restoring historic accents at the Pelican Hotel in Miami. The city of Miami Beach had given the location a day of commemoration. It was first built in 1948 by Henry Hohauser and has since become an iconic spot for visitors with its art deco style and special themed rooms.
The Pelican has gone through a renovation in 2022 and now, the bar expands with a more modern look. The hotel shared with Dezeen, "Soft tones were carefully chosen to complement the blue sky and natural surroundings, enhancing the airy, coastal ambiance. This redesign balances modern functionality with the timeless elegance of Miami Beach's architectural heritage, ensuring the Pelican remains a seamless part of the city's vibrant landscape."
