Retro Surf-Nostalgic Boutique Hotels

Gorrow Design Studio Completed the Sea Sea Boutique Hotel

Gorrow Design Studio has just completed the design of Sea Sea, which is a boutique hotel located in the coastal Crescent Head. The influence balances elements of the 70s and its prominent surf culture, fused with bespoke furniture and elevated by modern craftsmanship. George Gorrow and his wife, Cisco Tschurtschenthaler, renovated the roadside motel, turning it into "a seaside sanctuary and community clubhouse that blends 1970s surf nostalgia with modernity."

Gorrow told Dezeen, "Sea Sea is a new form of home that reminds you of the past. The building had some great eccentricities that really helped lead the design. Things like stained glass windows, oversized timber rafters, multi-pitched roofs, and a series of sprawling single-level buildings – all these quirks gave the place a sense of character we wanted to celebrate, not erase."
