Eccentric Australian Seaside Homes

YSG Updates the Interiors of a Seaside House in Byron Bay

Interiors design studio YSG has taken on a renovation project that elevates a seaside home in Byron Bay, Australia. The team formed a range of retro spaces that were defined bt its color palette and furnishings as a nod to past eras, specifically the 70s.

The location is recognized for its tropical temperatures and surfing and so this remained a main inspiration of the space, translated through relaxed interior and intentional details. Yasmine Saleh Ghoniem, the director of YSG speaks on the new renovation design, sharing "Despite tropical surrounds, the home's gaze is now firmly fixed inwards to create sensory journeys heightened by the eccentric beats of nostalgia." The space is filled with hues of deep brown which is favored by the client.
