Pears, a social network for couples, is born thanks to the creators of the Avocado app. Pears is an emotional attempt to fill in the gaping digital abyss and was created for power couples. This social network allows couples to explore who they are and promote their romantic partnership among other existing members of Pears.
The tech company has designed the social network with the modern day couple in mind including options to manage a joint calendar, message each other and even alerting the other partner if their smartphone is running low on battery.
"Avocado is often billed as a social network for two, but really, it was more of a utility app," says Chris Wetherell, Avocado's cofounder. The app is free for other couples who are using the network and allows other couples to connect via their conjoined identity.
