Dutch-based Paul De Ruiter Architects have recently designed a green building, titled 'Inspiration Center,' that aims to help revitalize the area's aesthetic.
Constructed in Grevelingen, Netherlands, the Inspiration Center will sit on a coastal nature reserve in close proximity to the North Sea. The design will provide a recreational element to the area that sits near Europe's largest tide-less saltwater lake, Lake Grevelingen. The lack of water flow connecting the lake to the ocean is damaging the area's plants and wildlife. The Inspiration Center literally sits in the midpoint of the separated bodies of water.
The building is entirely eco-conscious and blends into the region with its reed facade and green roofs. A large central tower will be erected to allow wind to circulate the building, along with an abundance of sunlight penetrating through its cut-out designs.
