QSR Pathogen Control Tech

Some McDonald's Locations are Implementing UV Lights to Fight Pathogens

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other pathogens in their restaurants, a number of McDonald's franchisees in the US are adopting ultraviolet light technology to disinfect surfaces and filter air. To implement the technology, franchisees in Houston, Dallas, and Chicago have partnered with UV Angel, a Michigan-based company that relies on a "proprietary ultraviolet light surface and air technology."

Matt Kades, one of the McDonald's franchisees to partner with the company, spoke to the decision, explaining "We want the air inside our locations to be as safe as the air outside, and we are proud to be one of the first restaurants in the world to add this technology to our infection control arsenal."
