Parting Stone developed a technology to create a personalized and sustainable way to honor the departed. The company is a "death tech" startup brand that turns cremated remains of loved ones into beautiful pebbles. The solidified remains boast a smooth, stone-like shape made of almost 100% ashes.

This memorial solution caters to the increasing desire for more meaningful ways to bid farewell to the departed with a smaller ecological footprint. Parting Stones can be shared with others, put on display, or scattered in a garden. Parting Stone developed the patent-pending technology in collaboration with Chris Chen, a ceramic engineer from Los Alamos National Laboratory. After compressing the remains, each family received between 40 and 60 stones in varying sizes and colors.
