'181 Palmer' is an unusual Australian home that is inspired by the open-plan lofts found in New York City. While New York City is known for its cramped living quarters, the city is also home to many spacious loft-style homes. This Australian residence recreates the feeling of a loft-style apartment inside of an old warehouse.

181 Palmer is located inside a converted warehouse in Sydney’s Darlinghurst neighborhood. The home is 4,305 square-feet and features a unique open-plan layout. More specifically, the home is modeled after the open-plan lofts found in New York City, which means that multiple spaces are contained within one large room. In this case, the living room, dinning room and garage are all connected.

While the idea of living without interior walls may not appeal to everyone, the home is an oasis for those who are enthusiastic about having an open-concept home.
