Miller Lite and Equality Federation are introducing the Open & Proud program to create safe and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ community at bars. The initiative focuses on the development and implementation of inclusivity training materials for bar owners and employees at the 55,000 bars and nightclubs where Miller Lite can be found.
Unfortunately, to this day, there are reports from members of the LGBTQ community feeling unsafe and unwelcome at bars and restaurants and this program aims to create more acceptance, support and environments that are welcoming. The program also includes town hall events across the country so that people can share their experiences and thoughts on how bar spaces can be made more inclusive, as well as a $250,000 donation to Equality Federation.
