'Nio' is Making a Phone to Pair with its Electric Vehicles

'Nio,' the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced its intentions to create a 'Nio Phone.' The Nio phone will pair with the electric vehicles, turning its products into more of a connected ecosystem than single-unit items. Nio stated that this inspiration came from Apple, as Apple has been proficient in connecting its entire range of consumer electronics, and is now venturing into making an 'Apple Car' as well.

Nio does not want to be left behind in the race for consumer loyalty, so its phone will boast various features that work best when combined with its vehicles. While the company did not release specifics on the phone or on these features, it has stated that it is not releasing this phone for revenue or commercial success, but rather for the love of the craft.
