Taco Bell recently announced that it will be testing a new Cheetos Burrito that combines a classic Mexican dish with a popular snack food. The new culinary mash-up follows the success of the Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider, which was recently tested in the Canadian market.
The Cheetos Burrito is similar to a standard Taco Bell burrito in that it is made with rice, seasoned beef, sour cream and nacho cheese sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled. The main difference is that the new dish also includes Crunchy Cheetos, which are meant to add an extra dose of cheesy flavor and a delightfully crunchy texture. The new dish will make its debut in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the chain will test out the popularity of the junk food mash-up.
The new Cheetos Burrito is part of a larger shift towards outrageous hybrid dishes at fast food restaurants.
