After the health-conscious decor for The Hungry Beast — an eatery and juice bar in Mexico, design firm Savvy Studio takes up the creative direction for a nautical restaurant in New York City. The establishment is Summer Day Cafe and it opened in July in Tribeca.
The ceiling is slightly slanted and the roof is raised. This creates the room for a spacious and brightly lit ambiance— an opportunity that is ceased by Savvy Studio. The cheerfulness of the nautical restaurant is accentuated by the bold color use and fearless patterns. The inspiration is connected to "key elements from the ocean [and] sea travel." The design firm skillfully arranges the eating areas within Summer Day Cafe to reflect certain occasions — from the quick lunch to the casual birthday celebration.
