Design Next Agency has executed a bold spatial transformation for Loong Noodles in Manhattan's St. Mark's neighborhood. Through this project, the studio has demonstrated how thoughtful design can overcome spatial constraints while celebrating cultural motifs.
Design Next Agency's approach to the 700-square-foot restaurant employs a strategic interplay of materials, lighting, and optical illusions to create an immersive dining experience that feels expansive despite its compact footprint. The material palette juxtaposes industrial stainless steel and ceramic tiles with warm light oak benches. Clever spatial solutions, including a strategically placed mirror wall and multi-functional furniture, enhance both guest comfort and operational flow. Key elements in Loong Noodles' new interior include a hot pink tiled bar counter that was inspired by Dan Ashram's cut-out aesthetic and an undulating LED dragon installation. Both of these features serve as focal points that merge artistic influences with functional design.
