Crowd-Controlled Soccer Teams

Murcielagos FC Allows Fans to Vote on Every Team Aspect

Fans seeking a say in how their teams operate may want to start rooting for Murcielagos FC. Murcielagos FC is a Mexican soccer club from the Sinaloa that is managed entirely by its fans.

Fans are allowed to either vote online or via text message on nearly every team decision. Decisions such as substitutions, rosters, bonuses and even team tactics are all decided via vote. Putting the fans in control is a dangerous move, but the impact of the decision making is lessened as Murcielagos FC plays in the second-tier professional league. Still, it does seem like an awesome concept, one that could possibly be brought to major professional sports leagues. While I don't think fans should choose a team's quarterback or starting pitcher, I do think they should get to control more than the song selection of the seventh inning stretch.
