Like any other diva in show business, Miss Piggy has a wardrobe chock-full of designer garb. And like any other diva in show business, her wardrobe isn’t safe from fashion-hungry eyes. Last week, Macy’s downtown Minneapolis store held a Glamorama party to showcase a retrospective of the stylish Muppet’s finest couture pieces.
A benefit for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, the Glamorama party gave attendees glass-case views of Miss Piggy’s high-fashion ensembles which included a Burberry quilted gold trench, a custom-made blue kimono by Jason Wu, and a peacock feather dress by Prada. Also exhibited were magazine covers, calendars, and photos of Miss Piggy’s most memorable fashion moments and celeb spoofs – for instance, the infamous Guess Jeans parody-ad with the “mature” Miss Piggy imitating Claudia Schiffer.
The Glamorama party is also held in the Chicago Macy’s this week. Word on the street is that the porcine-style princess herself will be attending in a sleek black number - to be designed by none other than Marc Jacobs!
