The Munch Museum in Oslo recently opened an innovative new exhibition that was co-curated with acclaimed Norwegian design firm Snohetta, which also did the show's catalog. The colorful Melgaard + Munch exhibition is the first of six showcases the Munch Museum and Snohetta will be producing over the next two years that will each present the work of Edvard Munch alongside another important artist.
The first artist to be showcased with Munch's work is Bjarne Melgaard, to be followed by Vincent van Gogh, Gustav Vigeland, Robert Mappelthorpe, Jasper Johns and Asger Jorn.
This innovative art exhibition is an intriguing way for single-subject museums to engage lovers of different genres of art and creates an opportunity for captivating conversation that is sure to lead to a highly successful series.
