The Mindcraft Project Channels Progressive Bold Designs

The Mindcraft Project is a special initiative that brings attention to the progressive Danish craft in the realm of design. This year, there is a focus on 10 emerging designers and their work that uses elements of design and craft in new ways. It is currently all on display at the Kvarat showroom in Copenhagen run by the Copenhagen Design Agency. Maria Brunn, the invited designer was tapped to curate this edition and she selected those that she thought were 'unafraid' to integrate their sense of self-expression.

Brunns shares, "The projects presented become specific instead of generic. I think that is something we experience now; designers are interested in finding their specific language of form or their specific approach to experimentation. There could be a lot of opinions about why we need to know each designer's subjective approach – why are we not creating functionality and more general design? But I think that good design starts here, with the designers' ambition and their subjective eye towards what design and craft could look like 20 years from now."
