A Special Project Merges Stine Goya & Yrjö Kukkapuro

— June 19, 2025 — Art & Design
An exhibition during Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign festival presents a unique fusion of Scandinavian design heritage and contemporary fashion sensibility through the collaborative work of Danish couturier Stine Goya and late Finnish furniture maestro Yrjö Kukkapuro.

This special project reinterprets Yrjö Kukkapuro's iconic Moderno chair series, a design which was originally conceived in the 1960s and celebrated for its ergonomic purity, through Stine Goya's distinctive chromatic vision. The collection features limited-edition variations including stools, chairs, barstools, and rocking chairs that marry pale birch with walnut tones, chrome accents with vibrantly stained wood, and leather surfaces with intricate striped textile patterns inspired by tape embroidery techniques.

The project represents a rare cross-pollination between two distinct creative disciplines and offers fresh perspectives on functional objects as emotional, narrative-driven pieces.
