With the rise of contemporary sensibilities in interior design, some venture to vibrant aesthetics, other opt-in for more subdued representation — which is the case with this minimalist cafe in Ras Al Khaimah.
The new business goes by the name of 'Hoof' cafe and with good reason. The raw aesthetics of the space seek to mimic the ambiance of a horse stall. This project was entirely overseen by design studio Bone. Admittedly an odd choice of inspiration for a modern minimalist cafe in the UAE, the approach is justified by the fact that Bone and the owners had agreed on "a brutalist reinterpretation of countryside equine architecture." The decision was catalyzed by the client's (three of them, in fact) "shared passion for horses, show jumping, and specialty coffee."
