A Malaysian graphic designer named Tang Chiew Ling illustrates these military portraits using inanimate objects. Each portrait depicts a war scene that is titled ‘Harmless War.' His new project places these harmless objects in a military scene to juxtapose against the cruelty of real war. These materials are used to evoke childhood innocence and to convey strong emotions.

If we lived in a world of peace, this is how we can portray harmless actions against humanity. The use of focus in his work brings awareness to everyone that violence is not the answer anymore. The use of guns and other harmful weapons essentially manipulates people's minds and destroys the world every day. These empowering military portraits create a meaningful message that sheds light on this issue.
