MakerBot has built a solid reputation as a 3D printer manufacturer and its latest innovation, the Method 3D printer, hopes to bridge the gap between home devices and industrial tech. Dubbed a "performance 3D printer," the new offering from MakerBot promises features usually restricted to industrial printers but at a price more in line with what regular consumers would pay.
According to MakerBot CEO Nadav Goshen, the Method 3D printer is the next step in helping organizations adopt 3D printing at a larger scale." This improved performance comes from the Method's Dual Performance Extruders capable of delivering 2x faster print speeds when compared to typical 3D printers. Another feature taken from industrial printers is special dry-sealed material bays, which form a seal to stop filament material from absorbing moisture.
