These extremely touching photos by photographer Emma Kisiel act as memorials for deceased animals. Kisiel has surrounded these fallen critters with circles made up of beautiful flowers to honor them.
This series is appropriately titled 'At Rest' and focuses on roadkill found along American highways. Kisiel never actually moves or touches these deceased critters, so some of them actually look very peaceful, while others look quite disturbing. Among the fallen animals in this series we find an owl, a fox, a young wolf cub and a couple of squirrels (among other things).
These moving photographs will likely encourage drivers to be more watchful so that they don't add to the deceased highway critters in America. Kisiel honors these animals in a beautiful way.
