Set to launch soon is McDonald's total makeover campaign, budgeted at a whopping $2.4 billion!
Moving away from being the classic burger joint, McDonald's will be redesigning its menus, interior design and customer experience. McDonald's is set to rebuild 400 "domestic outposts," refurbish 1,600 existing restaurants and build another 1,000 stores. This is the first makeover McDonald's will be going under since the 1970s!
Implications - Tired of fast food options, consumers are looking for more luxury dining. Chains of the greasy fries and burger variety are changing their atmosphere and designs in order to meet this desire. As the options and look of the fast food chain evolves, so will the customers of each company. A greater variety of consumers will be attracted to the quick dining experience as their needs can now be met through these companies that formerly catered to a lower demanding customer.
