Pregnant Mannequin Sculptures

Motherhood Inspires These One-of-a-Kind Artworks by Erin Zaffis

Erin Zaffis has created a series of pregnancy-themed mannequin sculptures that seem odd but have a great story behind the inspiration that drove the idea. Erin became a mother at the very young age of 17; she experienced a rather traumatic birthing, and afterwards decided to become a labor and delivery nurse.

Having a life that revolves around children and child birth has inspired a love for expressing and embracing her experiences through these mannequin sculptures. Through these works of art, Erin has shared her insights on some of the many aspects of what it is like to be a mother. There are nine sculptures in total that symbolize the entire experience of pregnancy.

This expression of art has served on another level for this artist; she is using these unique art expressions for a project that will contribute towards her Master of Arts in Health and Healing.
