Lure by Kate MccGwire sees the artist's return to the medium that put her on the map: feathers. While London-based sculptor wowed audiences earlier this year with her wishbone installation titled Brood, it is her past feather exhibits that really captured her audience. Unlike Evacuate, which involved frightening monster-like form, this exhibit wants to lure people in.
Comprised of abstract sculptures, Lure by Kate MccGwire is at once beautiful and unsettling. Twisting and bulbous, the sculptures have an organic aesthetic that gives them a strange sense of vitality. According to the artist herself, her work is "both sensual and deviant in equal measure." People will be mesmerized by this new crop of work because of this and more.
