The Lookout Above Litomyšl converts a standard shipping container into a vertical observation tower overlooking the Czech landscape. Set on a slender steel support, the structure raises the container high above the ground, transforming an industrial object into a landmark of perspective. Large glass panels open panoramic views while retaining the strength and texture of the container’s steel shell. The result is a striking contrast between utility and lightness, function and openness.
The interior maintains a minimalist approach with a narrow stairway that leads visitors to the top viewing deck. Raw steel, wood, and glass form a palette that feels both practical and poetic. The tower demonstrates how reused materials can find new meaning through context, turning a symbol of transport into a contemplative space that reconnects people with their surroundings.
