This Light-Filled Home is Bright, Airy and Clever

Nestled in a sea of drab gray concrete, this stunning airy and light-filled home is a delightful surprise that looks like an unassuming single-storey terrace house on the outside. Designed by Melbourne-based studio Edwards Moore, this light-filled home incorporates nature and the environment into the core of its architectural design.

Deciding to let light into the home from the top down to give it the vibrant and bright look, the architects creative twist to draw light it worked perfectly. Using polycarbonate roofing, a perforated steel floor and a pivot window, the skylight roof became a reality that is dreamlike in its effect. The loft-like space's perforated steel floor reacts to the sunlight coming in from above by giving the whole space a ethereal glow by day and an soft opaque on by night.
