The Light Container Lamp demonstrates serious out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to illumination design. Very little about these fascinating pieces references the standard light fixtures that you're accustomed to seeing.
What Martín Azúa has created are painted iron panniers to the shape of elegant wineglasses. Their forms are defined by wire frame structures and they suspend delicately from the ceiling beneath their slack electrical cords.
There is a nearly seamless connection between the fine black cable and the glowing ball that's cradled within the Light Container Lamp. This brilliant component is a blown glass diffuser that appears as a squashed sphere of pure illumination. It's held by this apparently lightweight basket in such a way that suggests heaviness.
